Regular Season Round 10: B.Cearense - Joinville 80-66

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked SKY/Basquete (4-4) won against 12th ranked Joinville (2-7) in Aldeota 80-66 on Friday. SKY/Basquete dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Joinville's 22. They outrebounded Joinville 45-27 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. SKY/Basquete looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Joinville's players. Quite impressive performance for the former international center Leonardo Klassmann (208-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 16 rebounds (perfect from the field making all thirteen shots !!!). The former international center Bruno Fiorotto (208-84) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. SKY/Basquete's coach Alberto Bial allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Lucas Vezaro (188-96) replied with 15 points and American guard Deonta Stocks (185-88, college: W.Georgia) added 10 points and 6 steals in the effort for Joinville. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SKY/Basquete maintains tenth position with 4-4 record. Joinville lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with seven games lost. SKY/Basquete will face higher ranked Universo/Vitoria (#7) in Salvador in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Joinville will play on the road against Caxias do Sul (#8) and hope to win that game.
