Regular Season Round 19: Liaoning FL - Guangdong ST 92-89

The most exciting game of round 19 in the CBA took place in Yingkou. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Guandong Tigers (13-6) to fifth ranked Flying Leopards (14-5) 92-89 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Guandong Tigers. Flying Leopards forced 21 Guandong Tigers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU, agency: Dutt Sports Services) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) helped adding 19 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side the former international Jianlian Yi (212-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds and Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Flying Leopards moved-up to third place, which they share with Shandong GS and Shenzhen L. Guandong Tigers at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Flying Leopards is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Blue Whales (#20) in Sichuan in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Guandong Tigers will play on the road against Leopards (#5) in Shenzhen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
