Regular Season Round 8: Correcaminos - Panteras 83-82

The most exciting game of round 8 in the LPB took place in Colon. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Panteras (4-4) to third ranked Correcaminos (4-4) 83-82 in the game for the second place. Naturalized American point guard Trevor Gaskins (188-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pro Sports) saved the victory by scoring 26 points and 5 assists. The former international Isaac StRose (190-83, college: John Brown) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Correcaminos' coach Casimiro Laguna used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. British V.Islands center Lester Prosper (208-88, college: Old Westbury, agency: Interperformances) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and Puerto Rican guard Jared Ruiz (188-92) added 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Panteras. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Panteras. Panteras lost fourth consecutive game. Correcaminos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Panteras' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Panama City Halcones.
