Very important is a road loss of third ranked Melilla Baloncesto (10-5) against thirteenth ranked Caceres Basket (7-8) on Friday night. Visiting Melilla Baloncesto was edged by Caceres Basket in a tough game in Caceres 73-75. Melilla Baloncesto was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 20-16 charge of Caceres Basket, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for Canadian-Guyanese guard Warren Ward (196-89, agency: Blacktop Management) who led the winners and scored 18 points. Forward Sergio Perez (205-79) accounted for 14 points for the winning side. Center Fran Guerra (214-92) came up with 8 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists and Serbian guard Filip Djuran (195-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for Melilla Baloncesto in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Caceres Basket moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Melilla Baloncesto dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Oviedo. Caceres Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Melilla Baloncesto will play against Araberri (#9) in Vitoria-Gasteiz and hope to secure a win.
