Regular Season Round 11: Lille - Roanne 71-60

An interesting game for Lille Metropole (9-2) which hosted in Lille second-ranked Chorale de Roanne (9-2). Third ranked Lille Metropole managed to get a 11-point victory 71-60. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Chorale de Roanne. The game was mostly controlled by Lille Metropole. Chorale de Roanne was better in second period 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lille Metropole made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Lille Metropole outrebounded Chorale de Roanne 42-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American point guard Maurice Acker (176-87, college: Marquette) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 4 steals. His fellow American import forward Rakeem Buckles (203-90, college: FIU) helped adding 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. Point guard Thomas Ville (189-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and American-Kenyan forward Robert Nyakundi (203-89, college: SMU) scored 18 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lille Metropole moved-up to second place, which they share with Roanne. Lille Metropole will play against STB Le Havre (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Chorale de Roanne will play against Saint Chamond (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
