Regular Season Round 12: Kagoshima - Tokyo Big Blue 112-59

No shocking result in a game in Renova where seventh ranked Kagoshima (5-7) smashed bottom-ranked Tokyo Big Blue (0-12) 112-59 on Saturday. Kagoshima held Tokyo Big Blue to an opponent 24.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 64.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Tokyo Big Blue 45-29 including a 36-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kagoshima looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Tokyo Big Blue's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). The other American import forward Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Five Kagoshima players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Bryan Simpson (197-84) who recorded 14 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Takayama Ryunosuke (171-93) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagoshima moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Aisin AW. Loser Tokyo Big Blue still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Kagoshima will face Aisin AW (#6) in Aichi in the next round. Tokyo Big Blue will play at home against Toyoda Gosei and hopes to get finally their first victory.
