Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Andorra (6-7) won against at home 15th ranked RETAbet BB (4-9) 99-91 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But RETAbet BB won third quarter 25-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Czech swingman David Jelinek (195-90, agency: Octagon Europe) nailed 23 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and international point guard Jaime Fernandez (186-93) accounted for 15 points and 8 assists. Andorra's coach Joan Penarroya used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Belgian-Congolese point guard Jonathan Tabu (189-85) came up with 16 points and 5 assists and forward Pere Tomas (202-89) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for RETAbet BB in the defeat. Five Andorra and four RETAbet BB players scored in double figures. Andorra moved-up to tenth place, which they share with UCAM Murcia. Loser RETAbet BB keeps the fifteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Zaragoza. Andorra will meet higher ranked Blusens Monbus (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. RETAbet BB will play against Unicaja Malaga (#9) and hope to secure a win.
