There was an upset in Sopot where higher ranked Trefl (7-6) was defeated by sixteenth ranked GTK (3-10) 86-74 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-74. GTK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Quinton Hooker (183, college: N.Dakota) who scored 16 points, 9 assists and 4 steals. The other American import guard Jonathan Williams (190-95, college: Toledo) chipped in 24 points. GTK's coach Pawel Turkiewicz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Jakub Karolak (196-93, agency: BeoExcell) who recorded 21 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Jermaine Love-Roberts (188-89, college: Ill.-Springfield, agency: Octagon Europe) added 13 points respectively. Newly promoted GTK maintains sixteenth position with 3-10 record. Loser Trefl keeps the eighth place with six games lost. GTK will face higher ranked Stelmet (#4) in Zielona Gora in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
