Regular Season Round 12: King - Anwil 70-85

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Szczecin. Second ranked Anwil faced 3rd ranked Wilki Morskie. Guests from Wloclawek (11-2) defeated host Wilki Morskie (9-6) 85-70. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Wilki Morskie. Anwil made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Cape Verdean-Portuguese Ivan Almeida (198-89, college: Stonehill) who scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. The former international power forward Szymon Szewczyk (209-82) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: E.Michigan) who recorded 22 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and power forward Mateusz Bartosz (205-87) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anwil keeps a position of league leader, which they share with MKS DG. Wilki Morskie at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Anwil is looking forward to face Trefl (#9) in Sopot in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Wilki Morskie will play on the road against Twarde Pierniki (#3) in Torun and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
