Thirteenth-ranked Campus Promete (2-11) gave a tough game to first ranked Perfumerias Avenida (12-1) in Logrono. The visitors from Salamanca managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected much easier game. Campus Promete was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 23-14 third quarter run of Perfumerias Avenida. They also forced 22 Campus Promete turnovers. American-FYR Macedonian Chrissy Givens (180-85, college: Middle Tenn.St.) nailed 15 points and 4 steals for the winning side and international center Laura Gil (190-92) accounted for 13 points and 4 assists. Serbian forward Adrijana Knezevic (183-87) came up with 17 points and 5 assists and Jamaican power forward Vanessa Gidden (192-85, college: Hofstra, agency: ProDep Management) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Campus Promete in the defeat. Four Campus Promete players scored in double figures. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-1 record. Campus Promete at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Zamarat. Perfumerias Avenida will play against bottom-ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (#14) in Madrid in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Campus Promete will play on the road against Al-Qazeres in Caceres and hopes to get back on the winning track.
