Regular Season Round 26: Toyotsu FE - Tokyo Z 82-79

Sixth-ranked Tokyo Z (9-16) made lots of trouble for first ranked Toyotsu FE (14-11) in Nagoya. Toyotsu FE managed to secure only three-point victory 82-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Toyotsu FE shot 61.8 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Toyotsu FE especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. American forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Shohei Kozu (191-87) contributed with 13 points and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Tatsuya Nishiyama (171-88) replied with 22 points and 5 assists and Latvian center Ricmonds Vilde (211-90, college: Houston Baptist) added 13 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Z. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Toyotsu FE maintains first position with 14-11 record, which they share with Hiroshima D. Tokyo Z at the other side keeps the sixth place with 16 games lost. Toyotsu FE will again play against Tokyo Z (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Tokyo Z will have a break next round.
