There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Olympique Antibes (6-8) beat at home higher ranked Hyeres-Toulon (7-7) 83-79 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-14. But Hyeres-Toulon won second period 30-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hyeres-Toulon 40-18 including a 26-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Beninese power forward Mouphtaou Yarou (204-90, college: Villanova) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Tyler Harvey (193-93, college: E.Washington) chipped in 20 points during the contest. Alexandre Chassang (204-94, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 18 points and swingman Vafessa Fofana (198-92) scored 16 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Olympique Antibes moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Cholet and Chalons-Reims. Loser Hyeres-Toulon dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Olympique Antibes will face Cholet Basket (#12) on the road in the next round.
