Sixth-ranked Aaguacateros (10-12) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Capitanes (14-8) in Mexico. Capitanes managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected easier game. Capitanes made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Aaguacateros were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by the former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St., agency: BeoBasket) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and American-Puerto Rican forward Emmanuel Andujar (198-93, college: Manhattan) supported him with 16 points. Even a double-double of 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists by American Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St.) did not help to save the game for Aaguacateros. His fellow American import center Maurice Sutton (211-89, college: Villanova) added 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Capitanes maintains fourth position with 14-8 record. Aaguacateros at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Santos. Capitanes will play against Toros (#6) in Nuevo Laredo in the next round. Aaguacateros will play at home against Soles and hope to get back on the winning track.
