Regular Season Round 12: Antwerp - Aalstar 77-73

The most important game in the last round took place in Antwerp between second ranked Okapi Aalstar (7-4) and fourth ranked Antwerp Giants (7-3) on Saturday night. Okapi Aalstar was defeated by Antwerp Giants in a tough game on the road 73-77. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Antwerp Giants made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Paris Lee (183-95, college: Illinois St., agency: Interperformances) who scored 16 points and 5 assists. The other American import power forward Dave Dudzinski (206-92, college: Holy Cross, agency: Inception Sports) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Samoan-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Senne Geukens (192-83) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Okapi Aalstar's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Antwerp Giants moved-up to second place. Okapi Aalstar at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Mons-Hainaut. Antwerp Giants are looking forward to face Basic-Fit Brussels (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Okapi Aalstar will play against Belfius Mons-Hainaut (#4) in Jemappes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
