Regular Season Round 15: Palestrina - Salerno 86-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd placed Salerno's (11-4) road loss to second ranked Palestrina (13-2) in Roma 72-86 on Saturday. Palestrina looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Bosnian-Serbian power forward Njegos Visnjic (200-79) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. The former international power forward Alessandro Paesano (203-93) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Palestrina players scored in double figures. Power forward Paolo Paci (204-90) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Marco Cucco (189-94, agency: Players Group) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Salerno. Palestrina maintains second place in B with 13-2 record having just two points less than leader San Severo. Newly promoted Salerno dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Palestrina will face Scauri (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Salerno will play against Battipaglia and hope to win that game.
