Regular Season Round 16: Al-Nweidrat - Al-Hala 63-65

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Premier League took place in Nuwaidrat. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Al-Nweidrat (10-5) to fifth ranked Al-Hala (10-5) 65-63 in the game for the fourth place. 25 personal fouls committed by Al-Nweidrat helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Lebanese center Loren Woods (218-78, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Mahmood Abbas contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian-Serbian center Mile Ilic (215-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds and Hassan Madan added 16 points in the effort for Al-Nweidrat. Al-Hala moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Al-Nweidrat. Al-Hala is looking forward to face Al-Ittihad (#7) in Manama in the next round. Al-Nweidrat will play on the road against Al-Najma in Manama and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
