Regular Season Round 19: Chiba Jets - Nagoya DD 78-72

There was no surprise when 4th placed Diamond Dolphins (10-16) were defeated on the road by second ranked Chiba Jets (19-7) 78-72 on Saturday. Diamond Dolphins were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) fired 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. International power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) chipped in 23 points. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) produced 28 points and 8 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and guard Takaya Sasayama (178-93) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Diamond Dolphins' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chiba Jets have a solid series of three victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Ryukyu GK lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Diamond Dolphins lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 16 games lost. Chiba Jets will face league's leader Toyota Alvark in Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Diamond Dolphins will play at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses and hope to win that game.
