Regular Season Round 24: Soles - Libertadores 101-92

Very expected game in Mexicali where 11th ranked Libertadores (5-17) were defeated by third ranked Soles (15-7) 101-92 on Saturday. Soles outrebounded Libertadores 39-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Soles especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) chipped in 24 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican-Puerto Rican forward Jonathan Rodriguez (196-87, college: Campbell) who recorded 25 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Christopher Moore (205-82, college: Virginia Union) added 20 points respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Soles have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Mineros. Libertadores lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Soles will meet Aaguacateros (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Libertadores will play against the league's second-placed Mineros (#2) and hope to secure a win.
