Regular Season Round 13: Faenza - Empoli 63-71

Serie A2 top team - Empoli (12-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat seventh ranked Faenza (6-6) 71-63. Empoli made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Faenza turnovers. Lithuanian forward Gabriele Narviciute (190-90) nailed 9 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Czech center Klara Pochobradska (186-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) accounted for 11 points and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Simona Ballardini (181-81) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and forward Lucia Morsiani (186-92) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Faenza in the defeat. Faenza's coach Cristina Bassi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Empoli maintains first place in A2 with 12-0 record. Newly promoted Faenza dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Empoli will play against Orvieto (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Faenza will play against Savonese and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
