No shocking result in a game when third ranked Sydney Uni Flames (12-7) beat at home 5th ranked Adelaide Lightning (10-10) 104-97 on Saturday. Sydney Uni Flames made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American forward Asia Taylor (188-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The other American import center Jennifer Hamson (201-92, college: BYU, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Sydney Uni Flames' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The former international center Abby Bishop (189-88) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Aimie Clydesdale (177-93) added 28 points and 5 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) in the effort for Adelaide Lightning. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sydney Uni Flames have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 12-7 record having just three points less than leader Perth. Loser Adelaide Lightning keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Sydney Uni Flames will face bottom-ranked Bendigo Spirit (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Adelaide Lightning will play against Bendigo Spirit and hope to win that game.
