Regular Season Round 19: Kyoto Hannar. - SeaHorses 91-84

Date: December 24, 2017
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (15-11) defeated at home leader Aishin Sea Horses (21-5) 91-84 on Sunday. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Kyoto Hannar. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) fired 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. The former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-90) produced 31 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center JR Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) added 23 points and 9 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kyoto Hannar. maintains second place with 15-11 record having five points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Loser Aishin Sea Horses still keep top position with five games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face Osaka Evessa (#4) on the road in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play against Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya and hope to win that game.
