Regular Season Round 27: Kanazawa Sam. - Aomori Watts 85-84

Fifth-ranked Aomori Watts (7-19) were very close to win a game against third ranked Kanazawa Sam. (14-12) in Ishikawa on Sunday. Kanazawa Sam. managed to secure only one-point victory 85-84. However their fans expected easier game. Kanazawa Sam. looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Tsukino Tsukino (178-88) accounted for 6 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists for the winning side. Kanazawa Sam.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Keisuke Aita (182-95) added 8 points and 9 assists respectively for Aomori Watts in the defeat. Kanazawa Sam. moved-up to second place, which they share with Hiroshima D. Loser Aomori Watts keep the fifth position with 19 games lost. Kanazawa Sam. will meet league's leader Akita Happinets on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aomori Watts will have a break next round.
