Regular Season Round 27: Iwate Big Bulls - Yamagata 53-81

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (2-24) were smashed at home by third ranked Yamagata (12-14) 81-53 on Sunday. Yamagata looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American center Jalen McGaughy (208, college: Dillard) answered with 7 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Koji Nagata (180-81) added 7 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Iwate Big Bulls. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yamagata maintains third place with 12-14 record having just three points less than leader Akita NH, which they share with Sendai 89ers. Iwate Big Bulls lost nineteenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 24 games lost. Yamagata will face league's second-placed Fukushima at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Iwate Big Bulls will play against Kumamoto V. (#3) and hope to win that game.
