Regular Season Round 20: Beijing D. - Jiangsu D. 122-124

The most exciting game of round 20 in the CBA took place in Beijing. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Beijing Ducks (12-8) to second ranked Jiangsu Dragons (16-4) 124-122 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It was a great shooting night for Jiangsu Dragons especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. 27 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) who scored 39 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international forward Xiaochuan Zhai (205-93) produced 26 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Aaron Jackson (190-86, college: Duquesne) added 35 points (!!!) respectively for the hosts. Five Jiangsu Dragons and four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Jiangsu Dragons have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Guangsha L. Beijing Ducks at the other side keep the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Xinjiang FT. Jiangsu Dragons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Beijing Ducks will play at home against Monkey Kings (#12) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
