Very important is a home loss of third ranked Maccabi Raanana (8-5) against eighth ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (6-7) on Monday night. Host Maccabi Raanana was defeated by Hap.Petah Tikva in a tough game at home 67-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Maccabi Raanana. American players dominated also this game. At the losing side power forward Karisma Penn (188-91, college: Illinois) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and forward Ariel Edwards (190-92, college: Penn St., agency: ProDep Management) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Hap.Petah Tikva moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ramat Hasharon. Maccabi Raanana at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Elitzur Ramla. Hap.Petah Tikva will play against league's second-placed Maccabi Ramat Gan in Ramat Hen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Raanana will play on the road against the league's leader Maccabi Ashdod and hopes to get back on the winning track.
