No shocking result in a game when second ranked Al-Ahli (13-2) crushed on the road 9th ranked Sitra (4-10) 76-55 on Monday. Al-Ahli dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sitra's 26. They outrebounded Sitra 45-27 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Kadhem Majed who scored that evening 21 points and 8 rebounds and the former international forward Hesham Sarhan (-92) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Al-Ahli's coach Aaron McCarthy felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 17 points by Qatari center Mohammad Abdullah (205-82) did not help to save the game for Sitra. Iraqi Ali Abdulla added 9 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Al-Ahli have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Sitra lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with ten games lost. Al-Ahli will meet at home Isa Town (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sitra will play against Al-Bahrain in Manama and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
