Bottom-ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of eight consecutive losses on Monday night. This time they won against ninth-ranked B.Yehuda in Tel Aviv 85-73. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion outrebounded B.Yehuda 50-27 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Nigerian-American forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA) nailed a double-double by scoring 32 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and American power forward Tori Jarosz (190-92, college: Marist, agency: Gamble Sports Management) accounted for 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Jarosz is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Sequoia Holmes (183-86, college: UNLV) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and international Lev Tal (179-97) added 19 points and 6 rebounds respectively for B.Yehuda in the defeat. Four B.Yehuda players scored in double figures. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (2-11) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated B.Yehuda. B.Yehuda lost fourth consecutive game. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will meet at home higher ranked Ramat Hasharon (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. B.Yehuda will play against Bnot Hertzeliya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
