There was no surprise when 6th ranked Tinguiririca S.F. (5-20) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Universidad de Concepcion (13-12) 87-61 on Wednesday. Universidad de Concepcion outrebounded Tinguiririca S.F. 41-17 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American center Augustine Okosun (210-86, college: Keiser) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-88, college: Troy) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Four Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Francisco Pavez (178-92) who recorded 14 points and Venezuelan forward Derwin Ramirez (191-82) added 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Universidad de Concepcion moved-up to second place, which they share with CDU Catolica. Tinguiririca S.F. lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 20 games lost. Universidad de Concepcion will have a break next round. Tinguiririca S.F. will play at home against the league's second-placed AB Ancud (#2) and hope to win that game.
