Very expected game when 12th ranked Whale (6-12) lost to second ranked Beijing Great Wall (14-4) in Sichuan 70-79 on Wednesday. Beijing Great Wall outrebounded Whale 32-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. American center Sylvia Fowles (198-85, college: LSU) notched 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and international Song Gao (188-92) supported her with 18 points. Four Beijing Great Wall players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 7 assists by guard Fangzhu Gong (170-91) did not help to save the game for Whale. Belarusian center Yelena Levchenko (196-83, college: W.Virginia) added 15 points and 9 rebounds. Beijing Great Wall have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Shanghai and Xinjiang. Whale at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 12 games lost.
