Regular Season Round 11: Vitoria - B.Cearense 89-68

Date: December 27, 2017
Seventh ranked Universo/Vitoria (6-5) crushed at home 10th ranked SKY/Basquete (4-5) by 21 points 89-68, which is the biggest margin this round. It was a quality performance for forward Renato Scholz (197-88) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) accounted for 19 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winning side. Four Universo/Vitoria players scored in double figures. The former international center Bruno Fiorotto (208-84) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Rashaun McLemore (193-86, college: CS Northridge) added 17 points respectively for SKY/Basquete in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Universo/Vitoria have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Caxias do Sul. SKY/Basquete at the other side keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Universo/Vitoria will play against higher ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SKY/Basquete will play against Vivo/Franca (#3) in Sao Paulo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
