Regular Season Round 12: Denain - Caen 79-70

An interesting game took place in Denain where 8th ranked Caen (6-6) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked Denain Voltaire (5-7) 79-70. The hosts were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 25-19 last quarter charge of Caen cut the lead to 79-70 at the end of the game. Denain Voltaire players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American-Cuban swingman Yunio Barrueta (198-93, college: Barry, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with 23 points. Caen's coach Herve Coudray tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Denain Voltaire moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Nantes and Vichy Clermont. Caen at the other side dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Denain Voltaire's next round opponent will be higher ranked SPO Rouen (#8) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.
