Regular Season Round 12: Charleville - Nancy 61-71

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Sluc Nancy (8-4) beat on the road bottom-ranked Charleville-Mezieres (1-10) 71-61 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Sluc Nancy. Charleville-Mezieres was better in second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Sluc Nancy won last quarter 21-13. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Mickael Var (205-90) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Dewayne Russell (180-94, college: Grand Canyon) who added 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Sluc Nancy players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Lucas Dussoulier (203-96) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Alexandre Moisy (175-95) scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sluc Nancy maintains sixth position with 8-4 record, which they share with Fos-Provence. Loser Charleville-Mezieres stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Sluc Nancy will face higher ranked Chorale de Roanne (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Charleville-Mezieres will play against ALM Evreux (#14) and hope to win that game.
