Regular Season Round 15: Strasbourg - Chalon 91-78

Date: December 27, 2017
Very predictable result when fourth ranked SIG Strasbourg (9-6) beat at home bottom-ranked Chalon/Saor (3-12) 91-78. The game was mostly controlled by SIG Strasbourg. Chalon/Saor was better in third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SIG Strasbourg dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Chalon/Saor's 32. SIG Strasbourg forced 19 Chalon/Saor turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Croatian center Miro Bilan (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American-Bulgarian point guard Dee Bost (188-89, college: Mississippi St., agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 21 points for the winning side. SIG Strasbourg's coach Vincent Collet used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international Mickael Gelabale (202-83, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and American forward James Farr (208-92, college: Xavier) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Chalon/Saor in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SIG Strasbourg maintains fourth place with 9-6 record, which they share with Nanterre. Chalon/Saor lost their third game in a row. Defending champion stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. SIG Strasbourg's next round opponent will be JDA Dijon (#9) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Chalon/Saor will play against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#6) and hope to win that game.
