Very predictable result when second ranked Lille Metropole (10-2) defeated at home 16th ranked STB Le Havre (2-9) 78-74 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. STB Le Havre was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-15 charge of Lille Metropole, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Rakeem Buckles (203-90, college: FIU) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 7 rebounds and center Nicolas Taccoen (204-86) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. Lille Metropole's coach Jean-Marc Dupraz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was naturalized Algerian point guard Samir Mekdad (191-86) with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists and American forward Stacy Davis (198-94, college: Pepperdine) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Lille Metropole have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-2 record behind leader Orleans. STB Le Havre lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth place with nine games lost. Lille Metropole will have a break next round. STB Le Havre will play at home against ADA Blois (#5) and hope to win that game.
