Regular Season Round 18: Shanghai - Bayi 76-68
Date: December 27, 2017
Rather predictable result when third ranked Shanghai Dahua (14-4) won against at home 5th ranked Bayi Kylin (9-9) 76-68 on Wednesday. Shanghai Dahua looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Breanna Stewart (193-94, college: Connecticut) notched 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and ShiChing Peng supported her with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Shanghai Dahua players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds by the former international forward Lu Wen (188-90) did not help to save the game for Bayi Kylin. International center Mengran Sun (197-92) added 17 points and 15 rebounds. Bayi Kylin's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Shanghai Dahua have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Beijing and Xinjiang. Bayi Kylin at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Jiangsu. Shanghai Dahua will meet at home bottom-ranked Shaanxi Tianze (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bayi Kylin will play against the league's leader Xinjiang (#1) and hope to secure a win.
