Regular Season Round 22: Sichuan BW - Shenzhen L. 122-105

Bottom-ranked Blue Whales managed to get a third victory. This time they won against sixth-ranked Leopards in Sichuan 122-105. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 17-point difference suggests that Blue Whales is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) notched a double-double by scoring 28 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St., agency: Slash Sports) supported him with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds by American forward Jared Sullinger (206-92, college: Ohio St.) did not help to save the game for Leopards. International guard Dehao Yu (188-95) added 19 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Four Blue Whales and five Leopards players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Blue Whales maintains twentieth position with 3-19 record. Leopards lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Zhejiang GB. Blue Whales will play against higher ranked Guandong Tigers (#4) in Dongguan in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Leopards will play at home against Bayi Rockets and hope to get back on the winning track.
