No shocking result in a game in Barcelona where sixth ranked Blancos de Rueda (9-7) won against 14th ranked Barca II (6-10) 84-75 on Friday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 29-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Blancos de Rueda outrebounded Barca II 42-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Greg Gantt (188-91, college: Florida Atlantic) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 rebounds and center Sergio De-La-Fuente (198-89) who added 9 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Ukrainian power forward Volodymyr Gerun (208-94, college: Portland) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Aleix Font (192-98) scored 16 points and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Blancos de Rueda maintains sixth position with 9-7 record. Loser Barca II keeps the fourteenth place with ten games lost. Blancos de Rueda will face Palma (#15) in S'Arenal in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Barca II will play on the road against CB Prat and hope to win that game.
