Bottom-ranked Samaheej (0-16) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 16th consecutive match to third ranked Al-Muharraq (12-3) 133-75. Al-Muharraq dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Samaheej's 38. They outrebounded Samaheej 55-36 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al-Muharraq players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American center Jordan Richard (206-89, college: CS Los Angeles, agency: Slash Sports) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 21 rebounds for the winning side and Ali Nader accounted for 25 points and 6 rebounds. Mohammed Busafwan came up with 30 points and 7 rebounds and Mujtaba Ismaeel added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Samaheej in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al-Muharraq have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-3 record having just three points less than leader Al-Ahli. Samaheej at the other side still closes the standings. Al-Muharraq will play against Al-Ittihad (#7) in Manama in the next round. Samaheej will play at home against Al-Nweidrat (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
