There was a surprise result in Reggio Calabria where twelfth ranked Viola RC (6-8) outscored higher ranked Agrigento (8-6) 96-64 on Friday. Viola RC dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Agrigento's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Agrigento's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Chris Roberts (193-88, college: Bradley) who scored 23 points and 4 assists. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Agustin Fabi (199-91) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Viola RC's coach Marco Calvani felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Tommaso Guariglia (207-97, agency: SPORTlab Agency) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Ruben Zugno (186-96, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Five Viola RC and four Agrigento players scored in double figures. Viola RC maintains twelfth position in A2 with 6-8 record. Loser Agrigento dropped to the seventh place with six games lost.
