Regular Season Round 28: Akita NH - Kanazawa Sam. 69-67

Second-ranked Kanazawa Sam. (14-13) gave a tough game to first ranked Akita Happinets (23-4) on Friday. Akita Happinets managed to secure only two-point victory 69-67. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kanazawa Sam.. Akita Happinets made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and international guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) who added 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. Coleby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Tsukino Tsukino (178-88) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Akita Happinets maintains first position with 23-4 record, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Newly promoted Kanazawa Sam. keeps the second place with 13 games lost. Akita Happinets is again looking forward to face league's second-placed Kanazawa Sam. in Ishikawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kanazawa Sam. will have a break next round.
