Very expected game when 5th ranked Betsafe (5-8) was smashed on the road by leader Ventspils (14-0) 97-71 on Friday. The former international power forward Rolandas Zakis (206-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Rihards Lomazs (187-96) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Ventspils players scored in double figures. Toms Leimanis (188-94) answered with 23 points and 6 assists and the former international center Andrejs Selakovs (207-88, agency: Players Group) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Betsafe. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the thirteenth consecutive win for Ventspils.
