Pepsi LBL top team - Homenetmen (11-1) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Byblos (2-11) in Beirut 91-68. Homenetmen forced 23 Byblos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Byblos' players. American swingman Sam Young (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) fired 30 points for the winners. Tunisian Makram Ben-Romdhane (204-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Four Homenetmen players scored in double figures. American swingman Wayne Blackshear (196-92, college: Louisville, agency: Dutt Sports Services) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Allan Ray (188-84, college: Villanova) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Homenetmen have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-1 record. Byblos lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Homenetmen will meet CS Antonins (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Byblos will play against Beirut Club and hope to secure a win.
