Regular Season Round 11: Pinheiros - Franca 77-90

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Sao Paulo: Vivo/Franca (#4) and Pinheiros (#2). Pinheiros was defeated at home 77-90 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Vivo/Franca shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for the former international Luis-Felipe Gruber (206-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. International Leonardo Meindl (201-93) helped adding 10 points and 12 assists. Vivo/Franca's coach Helinho Garcia used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) responded with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Felipe Ruivo (189-98) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vivo/Franca have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Paulistano. Pinheiros at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Vivo/Franca is looking forward to face SKY/Basquete (#10) in Aldeota in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pinheiros will play on the road against Flamengo (#8) in Rio de Janeiro and is hoping to win this game.
