A very close game took place in Saporro between Hokkaido L. and San-en NeoPhoenix. Fifth ranked Hokkaido L. (16-12) got a very close home victory over second-ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (13-15). Hokkaido L. managed to escape with a 3-point win 69-66 in the fight for the second place. Hokkaido L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Tatsuya Suzuki (169-91) added 8 points and 7 assists for the guests. Hokkaido L. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Kyoto Hannar. Loser San-en NeoPhoenix keeps the second position with 15 games lost. They share it with Toyama Grouses and Tochigi Brex. Hokkaido L. will meet at home Toshiba Thunders (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. San-en NeoPhoenix will play against Hitachi Sunrockers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
