Regular Season Round 29: Kumamoto V. - Iwate Big Bulls 83-52

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Kumamoto V. (19-9) outleveled at home 6th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (2-26) 83-52 on Saturday. Kumamoto V. dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Iwate Big Bulls' 28. They outrebounded Iwate Big Bulls 38-19 including 23 on the defensive glass. Kumamoto V. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Iwate Big Bulls' players. The best player for the winners was Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Ryota Nakanishi (199-88) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Yusuke Masuda (184-90) produced 15 points and guard Ryuta Kato (181-93) added 12 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. maintains second place with 19-9 record having just three point less than leader Akita NH. Iwate Big Bulls lost twenty first consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 26 games lost. Kumamoto V. will face Dragonflies (#4) in Hiroshima in the next round. Iwate Big Bulls will play on the road against the league's leader Akita Happinets and hope to win that game.
