Regular Season Round 13: Sagesse - Al Riyadi 76-72

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut: Sagesse (#4) and Al Riyadi (#3). Sagesse (8-4) won against visiting Al Riyadi (10-3) 76-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Riyadi. Sagesse forced 19 Al Riyadi turnovers. American forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) stepped up and scored 27 points for the winners and the former international Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. At the losing side the former international forward Mohamad Haidar (201-90, college: Michigan Tech) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Wael Arakji (194-94) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. Sagesse maintains fourth place with 8-4 record. Defending champion Al Riyadi keeps the third position with three games lost. Sagesse are looking forward to face Louaize (#7) in Zouk in the next round. Al Riyadi will play at home against the league's second-placed Champville (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
