Regular Season Round 8: Bank of Taiwan - Fubon Braves 79-77

Fourth defeat of league's leader Fubon Braves (5-4) against second ranked Bank of Taiwan (6-3) 79-77 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fubon Braves. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Bank of Taiwan forced 20 Fubon Braves turnovers. Strangely Fubon Braves outrebounded Bank of Taiwan 46-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. Costa Rican-Belizean forward Charles Garcia (208-88, college: Seattle) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Po-Sheng Po-Sheng (185-87) contributed with 11 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Bank of Taiwan players scored in double figures. International guard Tsung-Hsien Chang (192-87, college: BYU-Hawaii) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Wen-Cheng Tsai (190-85) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Fubon Braves. Fubon Braves' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Bank of Taiwan have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Fubon Braves at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Bank of Taiwan. Fubon Braves will play next round against Dacin Tigers trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Bank of Taiwan will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked KKL on the road.
