Regular Season Round 26: Toros - Capitanes 89-77

Date: December 30, 2017
The game in Nuevo Laredo was also quite interesting. 4th ranked Capitanes (15-9) played at the court of sixth ranked Toros (11-12). Toros defeated Capitanes 89-77 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Capitanes. American forward Brandon Swannegan (206-93, college: Tulsa) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the effort and American-Puerto Rican point guard Wilfredo Pagan (184-76) supported him with 23 points and 5 assists. Five Toros players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 7 rebounds by American-Puerto Rican forward Emmanuel Andujar (198-93, college: Manhattan) did not help to save the game for Capitanes. The former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St., agency: BeoBasket) added 11 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Capitanes' coach Ramon Diaz rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toros maintains sixth position with 11-12 record. Newly promoted Capitanes keep the fourth place with nine games lost. Toros will meet higher ranked Soles (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Capitanes will play against the league's leader Fuerza Regia and hope to secure a win.
