The game in Manama was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Al-Nweidrat (11-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Al-Najma (9-6). Al-Nweidrat managed to secure a 6-point victory 83-77 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Al-Najma. They outrebounded Al-Najma 45-33 including 36 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Bosnian-Serbian center Mile Ilic (215-84) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 24 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. Ebrahim Albasri chipped in 23 points. American forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent St.) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and Qassim Hassan added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Al-Najma players scored in double figures. Al-Nweidrat moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al-Hala. Loser Al-Najma keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Al-Nweidrat will meet at home Sitra (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Al-Najma will play against the league's leader Al-Ahli (#1) in Manama and hope to secure a win.
