Everything could happen in Rethymno at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Cretan Kings and 9th ranked Kymis had identical 3-6 record. This time Cretan Kings used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Kymis 83-73 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Cretan Kings led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Kymis outrebounded Cretan Kings 43-28 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Shaquille Goodwin (206-94, college: Memphis) notched 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and international forward Haralampos Giannopoulos (200-89) supported him with 22 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import center Gary McGhee (209-88, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Inception Sports) added 9 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cretan Kings (4-6) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Kymis dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. Cretan Kings will meet Aiolos Trikallon (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. Kymis will play against Kolossos HH and hope to secure a win.
